Jamaat to Present the ‘Correct’ History of the Liberation War to Students: Manifesto Promise

Ahead of the 13th National Assembly elections, Jamaat-e-Islami has unveiled a 41-point election manifesto, pledging to uphold the ideals of the Liberation War in state and national life and to present what it calls the correct history of the Liberation War to students. Party Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman presented the manifesto in the capital, outlining plans to raise Bangladesh’s economy to $2 trillion by 2040 and increase per capita income to $10,000. The manifesto emphasizes technology-based agriculture, smart manufacturing, ICT, education, and healthcare, while setting targets such as boosting FDI to $15 billion, cutting import dependence, achieving 7 percent GDP growth, raising the tax-free income limit, reducing corporate tax, and creating 70 million jobs at home and abroad. It also prioritizes good governance, a corruption-free state, women’s workplace safety, youth empowerment, human rights, education and healthcare reforms, social security, and infrastructure development.
