A video involving Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader and Satkhira-4 (Shyamnagar and part of Kaliganj) MP Gazi Nazrul Islam has gone viral, triggering widespread discussion on social media.
After the footage surfaced, Satkhira Jamaat's media cell-affiliated platform, Crime Barta, initially claimed it had been created using artificial intelligence (AI). However, after more videos from the same location emerged, local Jamaat leaders said the young woman seen in the footage is the MP's second wife.
The videos and CCTV footage, which began circulating on Facebook and other social media platforms on Monday night (July 20), show Gazi Nazrul Islam inside a room with a young woman. In some clips, he is seen talking on a mobile phone, while in others, he appears in an intimate setting with her.
Maulana Azizur Rahman said the party is investigating how the videos were leaked and who was responsible. When asked when the alleged second marriage took place, he said he did not know the exact date but had been informed that the marriage had been solemnized some time ago.
