Kuwait has released surveillance footage showing the moment a drone struck Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, killing one person—an Indian national—and injuring dozens more. The attack also caused significant damage to the airport’s infrastructure. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) denied targeting the airport, claiming the damage was caused by a malfunctioning US-made Patriot missile that fell after failing to intercept Iranian missiles.
The footage, shared by Kuwait’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on X, captures the impact of the strike and its immediate aftermath. The video shows part of Terminal 1’s roof collapsing after being hit by the projectile.
In a statement accompanying the footage, the DGCA described the incident as a “brutal Iranian drone attack” on 3 June 2026 that resulted in fatalities, serious injuries, and extensive property damage.
According to Kuwaiti authorities, the drone strike heavily damaged a passenger terminal at the country’s main airport, killed one person, injured at least 63 others, and temporarily suspended airport operations. The incident marked another escalation in the exchange of attacks between Iran and the United States, putting a fragile ceasefire under increased strain.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that one Indian citizen was killed in the strike and that several others were injured. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait said it is working closely with Kuwaiti authorities to provide assistance to the injured and support the victim’s family.
