An Indonesian man and his wife have finally fulfilled their lifelong dream of performing the sacred Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, after nearly four decades of saving and preparation.
The devoted couple recently arrived in Saudi Arabia through the "Makkah Route" Initiative—an official program designed to support pilgrims from select countries, including Indonesia. Hajji Legiman, who works as a cleaning worker, shared his overwhelming joy upon finally achieving this deeply cherished goal. “I am overjoyed. I couldn’t believe I would finally see the Holy Kaaba with my own eyes,” he said, referring to Islam’s holiest site in Makkah. “I thank Allah above all, then everyone who supported us along the way. I especially want to thank those responsible for the Makkah Route Initiative, which made the journey far easier than I ever imagined,” he told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
He also revealed that he and his wife began saving for the pilgrimage back in 1986. Despite the hardships of their daily lives and the challenges of low-income work, they remained committed to their goal for nearly 40 years—driven by faith, determination, and hope.
