Donald Trump faces fresh controversy after sharing a podcast by Michael Savage on social media, where Savage referred to countries like India and China as “hell-holes” and claimed people from those countries come to the US only to have children.
On his Savage Nation podcast, Savage criticized US birthright citizenship laws, alleging that many people from India and China travel to the US, give birth there, and their children automatically become American citizens. He claimed those children later help bring their families to the US.
Savage also made controversial remarks about immigrants from India and China, calling them “gangsters with laptops” and accusing them of harming the US.
Trump has long opposed birthright citizenship. In a recent interview, he claimed that only the US offers citizenship by birth, though more than 30 countries — including Canada and Mexico — also have similar policies.
After returning to office for a second term in 2025, Trump signed an executive order to limit birthright citizenship in certain cases, sparking legal debate across the country.
Under the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution, most children born in the US are entitled to citizenship. The Trump administration’s move has challenged that constitutional right.
The issue is now pending before the Supreme Court of the United States, and its ruling could significantly impact future US immigration policies. Trump said that if the court rules against him, it could cause major economic harm and humiliation for the country.
