A shocking crime has occurred in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, where 57-year-old K. Lakshmi Devi is accused of murdering her 35-year-old son, K. Shyam Prasad. Police allege that on February 13th, driven to extreme measures by her son's behavior, she, with the help of relatives, killed him using a sharp weapon, possibly an axe. The crime took a particularly gruesome turn as the body was dismembered into five parts, placed in three sacks, and disposed of in the Nakalagandi canal near Cumbum village.
According to Prakasam Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar, the motive stemmed from Prasad's alleged repeated misconduct, including inappropriate behavior towards his aunts and other relatives in various cities like Bengaluru, Khammam, and Hyderabad. There are also allegations that he attempted to sexually assault his maternal aunts in Hyderabad and Narasaraopeta.
Authorities have registered the case under BNS Sections 103(1) and 238 and are actively searching for Lakshmi Devi and her accomplices, who are currently at large. The brutal nature of the crime has deeply disturbed the local community, raising serious questions about familial relationships and public safety.
