Pakistan-born USA fast bowler Ali Khan has been denied an Indian visa. The 35-year-old, originally from Attock City in Pakistan’s Punjab, shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, January 13, posting a photo with the caption: “India visa denied but KFC for the win.”
Ali Khan has represented the USA in 15 ODIs and 18 T20Is, claiming 33 and 16 wickets respectively. He was part of the USA squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, playing in Group A matches against India and Pakistan, where he dismissed Rishabh Pant and Fakhar Zaman, respectively. He is expected to be included in the USA squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The 2026 T20 World Cup will be held from February 7 to May 8 across eight venues—five in India (Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai) and three in Sri Lanka (Colombo’s RPS and SSC Stadiums, and Pallekele).
The USA are in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, Namibia, and the Netherlands, with three of their four group matches scheduled in India. Their opening match against India will take place at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on February 7, followed by a game against Pakistan at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, on February 10. The remaining two matches, against the Netherlands and Namibia, will be held on February 13 and 15 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
