Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, highlighted that “despite changes around us, India and Bangladesh have unique offerings for each other that cannot be found elsewhere.” He stressed the importance of viewing this partnership from a long-term perspective, saying, “This relationship should address mutual interests, concerns, and aspirations with sensitivity.” Verma made these remarks during a discussion with diplomatic correspondents in New Delhi on Monday (December 24). Reiterating India's unwavering support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, and progressive Bangladesh, he said, “Collaboration between the two nations will greatly benefit the people of both countries.” He acknowledged the significant role of Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor, Professor Yunus, visiting India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside meetings between officials of both nations, in bolstering bilateral ties. Additionally, the Indian High Commission organized two training programs in India this year for Bangladeshi diplomatic journalists. The discussion was attended by DCAB President Nurul Islam Hasib, General Secretary Ashikur Rahman Apu, and other journalists.
