Bangladesh’s future is bright due to its geographical location, and once we start utilizing it properly, no one will be able to restrain our economy, even with chains, said the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He made these remarks on Sunday night (February 16) while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Annual Conference’ organized by the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center.
The Chief Adviser stated that there is immense potential for trade with Nepal, Bhutan, and India’s Seven Sisters. Their goods will be transported through Bangladesh, and the process for this has already begun. By leveraging its geographical advantage, the country will be able to benefit significantly.
Highlighting corruption as the country’s biggest problem, Dr. Yunus said, “Our biggest issue is corruption. It has ruined everything. There is no alternative to overcoming this if we want to build a new nation. To create a corruption-free country, all information will be made publicly accessible. To encourage competition, results will be announced by district through rankings, and the leading districts will be rewarded.”
Praising Bangladesh’s youth for their role in the July Revolution, he said, “What the youth demonstrated in the July Revolution is unparalleled in the world. Therefore, they must be given opportunities. However, despite having opportunities, we hesitate to take them. We must open doors for the youth.”
He further added, “We establish universities at every turn. If we set up a nursing college alongside each, we could produce many nurses. The global demand for nurses will never end.”
