Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP), recently responded to Hasnat Abdullah's Facebook post about their meeting with the Army Chief. Sarjis clarified that they were not officially called to the cantonment, and the meeting was arranged through the Army Chief's military advisor. He disagreed with Hasnat’s interpretation of the Army Chief's speech, believing it to be a direct expression of opinion rather than a proposal. Sarjis also defended the Army Chief’s tone, describing it as one of experience rather than anger. He emphasized that their party has not called for the Army Chief’s resignation and rejected any narrative that pits the Bangladesh Army against political parties. Sarjis also expressed concerns about the public disclosure of their private discussions, believing it could damage trust in future political negotiations. He reaffirmed their commitment to opposing any form of the Awami League and continuing their fight for justice.
