Mahmudur Rahman, editor of Amar Desh newspaper, has called for an apology from Dr. Debapriya. During a discussion with journalists at the National Press Club on Sunday, he remarked that Dr. Debapriya was so influential that laws had to be changed during the 1/11 government's tenure to bring him into the administration. He also noted that it was Debapriya, not economic advisor Salehuddin, who accompanied Dr. Muhammad Yunus on a trip to the U.S. Rahman added that he had no concern for the Hasina-Modi relationship and similarly has no regard for the current government. He expressed hope that Dr. Yunus’s administration would fulfill their responsibilities and transfer power to an elected government before stepping down.
