The High Court has declined to order a ban on the activities of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Bangladesh. This decision came after the Attorney General's Office assured the court that authorities had already taken necessary actions in response to recent events, including rallies and clashes in Chittagong. The court, led by Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury, emphasized the government's responsibility to ensure law and order and protect public safety. Additionally, the court was informed that three separate cases had been filed concerning the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif and ISKCON’s activities, with 33 individuals arrested. A lawyer had previously petitioned the court to ban ISKCON, citing reports of unrest.
