In an extraordinary academic achievement, Qandeel Murtaza, an MBBS student from Pakistan, created history at Khyber Girls Medical College by winning a record 17 gold medals during the institution’s 2026 convocation ceremony. It is the highest number of gold medals ever earned by a student in the college’s history.
During the ceremony, the medals were handed over by Sohail Afridi, while Qandeel’s father, who works as a tailor, proudly stood beside her on stage. The emotional moment quickly gained attention on social media, with many praising her dedication and inspiring journey. The convocation also honoured other top performers, including Muqaddas with 10 gold medals and Sabeeh with seven.
