Over 20 hours into their hunger strike, 32 students from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) are continuing their protest in front of the Student Welfare Centre, demanding the resignation of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Masud. Despite the intense heat, the students have not eaten since 4:00 PM on Monday, with several showing signs of physical distress. A medical team is present, closely monitoring their condition. The protest is a response to an incident on February 18, when students were allegedly attacked by Chhatra Dal activists and outsiders during a rally. Instead of offering protection, the university administration allegedly suspended and filed cases against many of the victims. Although the students submitted their demands to the interim government, no action has been taken, which has led to the intensification of their protest, with the sole demand being the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor. Despite repeated calls from officials to end the strike, the students remain determined, and the government's continued silence has drawn growing criticism.
