Professor Asif Nazrul, an advisor to the interim government, announced today, Tuesday, during a press conference at the Secretariat, that the tax on marriage registration has been abolished.
According to the legal advisor, the tax was considered unreasonable, leading the Ministry of Law to decide on its removal.
He also noted that the marriage registration form (Nikahnama) previously required the bride to indicate whether she was unmarried, widowed, or divorced. However, certain updates have now been made to the form.
