Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has announced plans to send 100,000 Bangladeshi youths to Japan for language training, skill development, etiquette lessons, and history education. “This is just the beginning. In the future, we aim to send many more. We believe this is a great opportunity for our young people to explore and showcase their creativity,” he said.
A Japanese parliamentary delegation praised Bangladesh’s progress in improving factory working conditions but noted that further improvements are still needed. “We must acknowledge that the labor environment has improved, but there is still scope for more progress,” said Michihiro Ishibashi, Secretary General of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
Ishibashi, who led members of the Japanese Parliamentarians’ League on the ILO, shared positive impressions from visits to factories and Japanese companies in Bangladesh. “We hope Japanese companies will continue to invest more in infrastructure and other sectors,” he added.
