The maximum age limit for applying to government jobs has been set at 32 years, as approved today, Thursday (October 24). The Chief Adviser's press wing announced on social media that, following a decision by the Advisory Council, this age limit will apply to all cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). Additionally, the policy will extend to autonomous and semi-autonomous organizations, with necessary adjustments to their recruitment guidelines. However, the existing recruitment regulations for defense services and law enforcement agencies will remain unchanged. According to this ordinance, and under the authority of Section 59 of the 'Government Service Act, 2018,' the Ministry of Public Administration will revise the 'Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualifications, and Examination for Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014.' Under the updated regulations, candidates will be allowed to sit for the BCS exam a maximum of three times.
