Thousands of Palestinians gathered in Gaza City yesterday to bury the remains of 112 members of the Abu Sharia and al-Hasayna families after their bodies were recovered from the rubble nearly three years following an Israeli strike on the Sabra neighbourhood. The attack, carried out in November 2023, reportedly killed 308 members of the two families, including 40 children. Palestinian authorities say about 157 people are still missing, with the funeral underscoring the ongoing anguish of families continuing to search for loved ones beneath Gaza’s rubble.
