France has announced a large-scale humanitarian operation for Gaza, sending nearly 400 tonnes of food aid, primarily targeting malnourished children aged six months to two years. The shipment, consisting of Nutriset nutritional supplements, is expected to assist over 42,000 children.
The initiative, announced on January 18, 2026, is a joint effort between the French government, a specialized company, and the United Nations, with the World Food Programme managing distribution on the ground. This aid builds on France’s ongoing support since October 2023, which has already delivered more than 1,300 tonnes of humanitarian supplies to Palestinian civilians.
France also urged Israel to allow unhindered humanitarian access for UN agencies and NGOs, emphasizing respect for international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, while reaffirming its commitment to protecting civilians amid the ongoing crisis.
