Four arrested at NSTU for bringing ganja to treat friends before going abroad

Four outsiders were detained by the proctorial team at Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NSTU) for possessing marijuana. The detainees claimed they had come to give their friends a "ganja treat" before one of them left for abroad. The arrest took place on Monday night (October 7) in the Maynadeep area of the university. Among the detainees were Mehedi (25), Miru (24), Shanto (23), and another individual whose name remains unknown. Recovered items included four mobile phones, marijuana, cigarettes, and personal belongings. Mehedi explained that they had bought the marijuana for 150 BDT from a source at Good Hill Hospital in Maijdee, Noakhali, and had come to campus to use it. Assistant Proctor Sajjadul Karim confirmed that the proctorial team had conducted a regular patrol, detained the suspects, took a written statement, and handed them over to the police, who later filed a case.
