Fortune Barishal secured their second BPL title, defeating Chattogram Kings by 3 wickets in the final. Having won their first title in the last edition, Tamim-Mahmudullah’s team successfully defended their crown.
Chattogram Kings returned to the BPL after nearly a decade and made it to the final, just as they did in the second edition. However, like before, they fell short, losing despite a strong start. Their fielding errors proved costly in the crucial match.
Batting first on Friday (February 7), Chattogram set a challenging 195-run target, led by Parvez Emon’s unbeaten 78 off 49 balls and Khawaja Nafi’s 50. Despite a 121-run opening stand, they managed 194/3.
In reply, Barishal’s Tamim Iqbal (54 off 29) and Towhid Hridoy (quick runs) gave a solid start. Kyle Mayers' 46 off 28 brought them close, but Shariful Islam’s four-wicket haul for Chattogram kept the match alive. In the last over, Barishal needed 8 runs, which Rishad Hossain sealed with a six and a single, ensuring victory with four balls to spare.
Though Chattogram fought hard, Barishal’s composed chase saw them lift the trophy once again.
