A fire destroyed around 100 shops at Madhaiya Bazar in Chandina, Cumilla, early this morning. Anil Kumer Gosh from Chandina Fire Station stated that six firefighting units from three stations worked for six hours to extinguish the blaze. He mentioned that the fire likely started at a sweet shop and spread rapidly due to the bamboo and wooden structures with tin-shed roofs. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be determined after an investigation, he added.
