A heartbreaking yet miraculous incident occurred at Bhairab Railway Station in Kishoreganj, where a father and his one-year-old child survived after falling under a moving train.
The incident took place around 3:30 PM on Tuesday (April 28) at Platform No. 1. According to witnesses and railway sources, as the “Titas Commuter” train bound for Dhaka was leaving the station, a couple attempted to get down from the moving train with their infant. At that moment, the child slipped from the father’s grip and fell onto the tracks.
Without hesitation, the father jumped under the train to save his child. He held the baby tightly and lay down close to the platform edge. Shockingly, multiple coaches of the train—around eight in total—passed over them. Panic spread among passengers, many of whom feared both had died on the spot.
However, after the train passed, both were found alive and unharmed, with only minor scratches. The incident left bystanders stunned, who described it as nothing short of a miracle.
One eyewitness said they were certain the two would not survive but were amazed to see them moving afterward.
Railway authorities later reiterated that boarding or alighting from moving trains is extremely dangerous and punishable by law, urging passengers to remain cautious at all times.
