Father Gone, Mother Left; Brothers Siam and Rifat Seek Help at Brahmanbaria Police Station

The story of two innocent children, Siam and Rifat, from Boddapara village in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria is deeply heartbreaking. After living without their father for four years, their mother, Asma Akhter, took on the responsibility of raising them. However, due to her mental health struggles, she is unable to provide them with proper care and support. At times, she leaves the home, leaving the children alone. With neither a father nor a mother by their side, the two helpless brothers turned to the police station seeking shelter. This special report by DBC News highlights a painful reality of society.
