Amjad Hossain, a farmer from Magura and a devoted supporter of Germany’s national football team, unveiled a massive 7.5-kilometre-long German flag at Nishchintapur High School field. The event drew hundreds of spectators, including local residents, cultural activists, and community leaders, who gathered to see the remarkable display of football enthusiasm ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Amjad said more than Tk 10 lakh was spent on making the flag, with a portion of the money coming from the sale of his land. He added that he intends to continue this tradition in future tournaments and has promised to create a 22-kilometre-long German flag for the 2030 World Cup if Germany wins the 2026 tournament.
