Six years after Ayub Bachchu’s passing, his iconic Rupali Guitar sculpture in Chittagong, built in 2019 by the Chittagong City Corporation to honor his legacy, had fallen into neglect. The unkempt site inspired Mohammad Mohsin, a devoted fan, to take action. On December 8, Mohsin led a cleaning campaign, inviting others via a heartfelt Facebook post. The initiative received a strong response, and many joined to restore the 18-foot-high sculpture, which holds emotional significance for locals and visitors alike. Ayub Bachchu's wife, Ferdous Akhter Chandana, expressed gratitude on Facebook, acknowledging the efforts of Mohsin and others, including musicians from Chittagong. She emphasized that Ayub Bachchu remains a beloved figure for Bengali music fans worldwide, a symbol of pride and inspiration. The cleanup effort reflects the enduring respect for his legacy.
