Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam criticized BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's call for a neutral government, claiming it signals the potential for a repeat of the 1/11-style administration. "Awami fascism, which emerged after the 1/11 transition, stems from that period," Nahid wrote in a Facebook post, asserting that the BNP's proposal is a tactic to "clear the way to power."
Speaking at the National Press Club on the anniversary of Shaheed Asad's martyrdom, Mirza Fakhrul defended his position, explaining, "I have called for a neutral government because we see the current government failing to take a neutral stance on certain issues." National Citizens' Committee Convener Nasiruddin Patwary also criticized Fakhrul, describing the demand as "a threat of a return to 1/11."
