BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters as crowds gathered along the roadside to bid farewell to party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who departed for the UK for medical treatment on Tuesday (7 January).
In a press statement issued today (9 January), Fakhrul said, "As people showed their immense love for Khaleda Zia, who has long faced unjust treatment, heavy traffic on the roads caused difficulties for many."
"On behalf of the BNP, I sincerely apologize for this. We hope Dhaka residents will view this temporary disruption with understanding," he added.
