Police have arrested former MP Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman in connection with murder cases related to the killing of students during the July revolution. The cases were filed at Mirpur Model and Adabor police stations. Suman was apprehended during a raid by Mirpur Model Police in the early hours of Tuesday, 22 October, according to duty officer Ohid. Before being taken into custody, Suman posted on his verified Facebook at 1:21am, stating, "I am going with the police. See you in court. Pray for me, everyone." Although a member of Jubo League's central committee, Suman ran as an independent candidate from Habiganj in the 2024 national elections.
