On Wednesday, detectives from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Amir Hossain Amu, a former minister and member of the Awami League’s advisory council, in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area.
Additional Police Commissioner of the Detective Branch, Rezaul Karim Mallik, confirmed the arrest.
According to Mallik, Amu faces several murder charges. He will be brought before the court, where a remand request will be submitted following his formal arrest in one of these cases.
