A new student organization, Bangladesh Gono Odhikar Chhatra Sangsad, has been founded by former coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. Abu Baker Majumder has been appointed as the central convenor. The official announcement of the organization will be made today, Wednesday (February 26), at a press conference at Madhur Canteen, Dhaka University, where a large crowd of students has already gathered in anticipation.
Abu Baker Majumder, a student from Dhaka University's 2019-20 academic session, was a prominent coordinator in the anti-discrimination student movement. He previously served as the member secretary of the Dhaka University chapter of Gono Odhikar Chhatra Shakti, which has since been suspended.
The new organization will be led by former leaders of Gono Odhikar Chhatra Shakti and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad. Additionally, students who resigned from Chhatra League during the student movement, as well as those who were involved in various Chhatra League programs during the Awami League regime, are joining. Some former members of Islami Chhatra Shibir are also reportedly joining this new group.
