EWU student rejects US scholarship in protest against Gaza g*enocide

Akibul Hossain Mahin, a student of East West University, has declined a merit-based scholarship from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as a protest against the United States' support of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In a direct email to the admissions office, he clearly stated that he no longer wishes to study at any U.S. institution. Mahin described his decision as a conscious and firm moral stance, driven by his principles. He expressed deep conviction behind his action and affirmed his commitment to standing against injustice, regardless of the personal cost.
