In Khajura, a village under Natore’s Naldanga upazila, a violent incident unfolded when an elder brother, Ismail Islam, brutally attacked his younger brother, Israfil Islam, after discovering that Israfil had secretly filmed obscene videos of Ismail’s wife.
According to reports, the incident took place on Thursday morning (April 24). Israfil, who works as a tile mason in the Natore area, was summoned to his elder brother’s residence. It was there that he allegedly captured inappropriate videos of his sister-in-law without her knowledge. When the matter came to light, Ismail was consumed by rage and called Israfil over once again. In a shocking act of violence, he used a machete to sever both of Israfil’s wrists.
Upon witnessing the aftermath, their other brother, Ibrahim Hossain, intervened and rushed the severely injured Israfil to Natore Sadar Hospital. Given the seriousness of his injuries, Israfil was later transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Local police have launched an investigation into the matter and are actively working to arrest Ismail, who fled the scene after the attack. Family members stated that they intend to file a case against him once they return.
