Advisor Asif Mahmud announced that this year’s Eid procession will follow traditions from the Sultanate era.
He explained that Dhaka North City Corporation is working to revive the city’s historic Eid procession, which dates back to the Sultanate and British periods. To make Eid more special, the main prayer will be held at the old trade fair ground near the China Friendship Conference Center. Similar to village Eidgahs, a day-long fair will be arranged at the venue.
Following the prayer, a festive and colorful Eid procession will take place, starting from the prayer site and ending in front of the Parliament building. Organizers are ensuring that the event respects religious values while maintaining its celebratory spirit.
