DU Launches Investigation After Hijab Placed on Raju Memorial Sculpture's Female Figure

The university administration opened an investigation when a group of young people wearing masks draped the female figure of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University with a hijab late on Sunday. According to witnesses, the young people rode up on motorcycles, performed the act, and then hurried off. Shortly after the event, the university's proctorial staff acted quickly and took off the hijab. An inquiry committee will be established by Monday afternoon to determine the perpetrators and the motivations behind the act, according to DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed. The people who were involved are yet unidentified.
