A one-and-a-half-year-old child, Irtija, was admitted to Dhanmondi Eye Hospital on Tuesday (January 14) with a left eye problem. The doctor, however, mistakenly operated on the child's right eye instead of the left. After the surgery, the family noticed the error and informed the doctor, who apologized and re-operated on the correct eye. The family demanded a fair trial, and the doctor fled without providing a discharge certificate. The child’s mother called for action, stating the doctor’s license should be revoked to prevent future harm. The hospital's CEO has promised an investigation, while the police confirmed that legal action would be taken once a formal complaint is filed. The incident is under scrutiny.
