A physically disabled man in Comilla's Homna Upazila has once again lost his only source of income after thieves targeted his tea stall.
On Sunday night (July 26), thieves stole around Tk 13,000 in cash and goods from Md. Lutfar Rahman Lutu's roadside tea shop in Shovarampur Dakshinpara of Chanderchar Union.
The same shop had previously been robbed of goods worth nearly Tk 20,000. Lutu had borrowed money to restock and restart his business, only to become the victim of another theft.
The repeated robberies have left Lutu devastated, as the small tea shop is the sole means of supporting his family.
Local residents have called for the immediate arrest of those responsible and urged authorities to help rehabilitate Lutu. Homna Police Station Officer-in-Charge Thomas Barua said necessary legal action will be taken.
