Nagad Limited, a mobile financial service provider, is facing serious allegations of financial fraud. The company is accused of fabricating fake distributors and agents, engaging in financial malpractice, and issuing excess electronic money (e-money), leading to discrepancies amounting to Tk 2,356 crore. These irregularities were uncovered during inspections conducted by the Bangladesh Bank’s administrator and management committee after the interim government assumed control of the company. A list of six officials allegedly involved in the unauthorized creation of distributors has been submitted to the Postal Department for legal action. Additionally, Nagad’s administrator, Muhammad Badiuzzaman Didar, has urged the Postal Department to initiate legal measures against those implicated in the company’s management.
