The Dhaka Customs Agents Association has alleged that the fire at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was intentional. The association claimed it was not just an accident but possibly a planned attempt to cripple the country’s economy by targeting its industries, import-export operations, and overall business activities.
In a press release issued on Sunday, association president Mizanur Rahman called for the formation of an independent and impartial probe committee to uncover the real cause behind the fire. He also urged authorities to take strict legal action against those responsible, whether individuals or organizations.
The association further stressed the need to investigate whether the incident was part of a deliberate effort to destabilize the national economy and hinder commercial operations.
