The interim government of Bangladesh has allocated BDT 637.8 million for families of martyrs and injured individuals from the student and public uprising. Advisor Nahid Islam shared this on his verified Facebook page, stating that savings certificates worth BDT 3 million will be provided to martyrs' families, while injured individuals will receive BDT 1–5 million based on their category. Of the total budget, BDT 232.6 million will come from the current fiscal year, with the remainder allocated in the 2025-26 fiscal year. Payments will begin in January, with the July Uprising Directorate overseeing the process. The OHCHR reported over 650 deaths during protests for government job quota reforms, with 400 fatalities occurring between July 16 and August 4, and 250 from August 5 onward. The unrest involved clashes, protests, and violence before and after the movement's first phase.
