D*eath toll rises to 10 from Sherpur floods in 5 days

Another child has tragically d*ied after being swept away by floodwaters in Sherpur, bringing the death toll in the district to 10 over the past five days. The victim, Rahim (5), was the son of Rafiqul Islam from Talki in Nakla upazila. According to locals, Rahim went missing while playing on Monday afternoon, and his body was later found that night in a nearby pond. Nakla Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC), Habibur Rahman, informed The Daily Star that the family did not file any complaints, and the child's body was handed over to them without conducting a post-mortem.
