A 23-year-old woman from Savar has confessed to killing her father, making the admission herself by calling the emergency hotline 999 shortly after carrying out the act. The tragic incident took place early Thursday morning in a fifth-floor apartment where the two had been living together for the past five months.
According to police reports, the victim, 55-year-old Abdus Sattar, had previously been accused of raping his daughter in 2022, a charge that led to his imprisonment. Following his release, the father and daughter began living together once more, although their relationship reportedly remained strained. Tensions intensified as Sattar allegedly continued to pressure his daughter to withdraw the rape case.
On the night of the murder, she is said to have mixed 20 sleeping pills into his dinner. After he fell unconscious, she fatally stabbed him with a knife. She was arrested at the scene by police, who also recovered the bloodstained weapon. Authorities have confirmed that a murder case is currently being filed in connection with the incident.
