A crude bomb was thrown at a Durga Puja Mandap in the Tantibazar area of Old Dhaka around 7:00 pm on Friday. Although the bomb ignited slightly, no one was hurt. Police later recovered the bomb, which was made using a glass bottle filled with petrol. Locals reported that a group of youths from a nearby alley targeted the altar. When volunteers pursued them, the attackers retaliated with knives, injuring at least five people. Rezaul Karim Mallik, Additional Commissioner of the DB, visited the scene following the incident.
