An offer for unlimited ice cream at just 100 taka was announced at Dhaka's upscale hotel, Le Meridien. From Saturday noon, ice cream enthusiasts began gathering in front of the hotel. However, shortly after 1 PM, the supply of ice cream for the offer ran out. Unable to provide ice cream to the waiting customers, a dispute arose. At one point, a clash broke out between a group of students and the hotel’s security personnel. The incident occurred around 2 PM on Saturday (November 9). Reports indicate that two people were injured, though their identities were not immediately known. The authenticity of the incident was confirmed by Khilkhet Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md. Azharul Islam.
