The court has set January 2 for the next bail hearing of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Mancha and principal of Pundarik Dham in Chittagong. His hearing on December 3 was postponed as no lawyer appeared on his behalf, and the state requested a delay. Chinmoy Das was arrested on November 25, following a sedition case filed by BNP leader Firoz Khan for allegedly insulting the national flag during a rally on October 25. On November 26, a clash between law enforcement and his supporters resulted in the brutal murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, leading to demands for a ban on ISKCON.
