Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus returned home on Saturday night after a four-day visit to China. His flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:10 pm.
During the trip, he attended the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan and met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. They discussed regional stability, the One China policy, and Bangladesh’s Teesta Multipurpose Project. Xi assured support in resolving the Rohingya crisis.
The visit resulted in an agreement, eight MoUs, and China’s pledge of $2.1 billion in investment, loans, and grants. Dr. Yunus also invited Chinese investors to relocate factories to Bangladesh.
