President Trump Signs Gaza Peace Agreement
President Trump signed the Gaza Peace Agreement during a conference with world leaders in Egypt. “It took 3,000 years to reach this point, but we’ve finally done it,” Trump said, noting that leaders from Europe and the Muslim world stood firmly behind him.
“We’re doing a signing—then we’ll hold a press briefing. I might stay behind with the leaders, just to talk about some things without the press,” he added, while praising various attendees, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, calling him a “tough cookie.”
Trump, Erdoğan, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi signed the documents on behalf of Israel and Hamas.
