Nahid Islam, Adviser on Information, Broadcasting, Post, and Telecommunications, emphasized interfaith harmony while visiting worship halls in Dhaka on Friday, October 11. He remarked that all communities contributed to the independence of new Bangladesh and condemned any obstruction of religious freedom, promising strict action against violators. Reflecting on the struggle against the fascist Awami League government, he noted that the sacrifices made were not divided between Hindus and Muslims. During his visit to pujamandaps in Gulshan and Uttara, Islam highlighted efforts to support the Sanatan Dharma community, including an additional holiday for this year’s Durga Puja.
