This afternoon, two Bangladeshi farmers named Masud and Enamul were allegedly detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) while they were harvesting paddy near the Biral border in Dinajpur. In response to the incident, enraged locals from the Bangladeshi side captured two Indian tribal farmers—Abinash Tudu and Philip Soren—from Anantapur village in West Bengal. Following the detentions, a flag meeting was initiated between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the BSF to find a peaceful resolution and arrange for a mutual handover of the detained individuals. According to locals, such incidents are not new, as the BSF has reportedly detained Bangladeshi citizens in the past, often prompting similar retaliatory actions from the local population.
