Sujan Biswas and Kurratul Ain Kaniz, a newly married couple, made headlines by holding placards reading “Justice for Hadi” during their wedding ceremony, sparking widespread discussion in Chapainawabganj.
The ceremony took place on Monday (January 5) in Dharampur village of Bholahat upazila. At a moment during the colorful event, the bride and groom displayed the placards demanding justice for the murder of Inqilab Mancha convener Sharif Osman Hadi.
Bride Kurratul Ain Kaniz, elected as Vice President of Shamsunnahar Hall Sangsad (DUCSUR) as an independent candidate, studies in the Department of Geography and Environment at Dhaka University. Groom Sujan Biswas, a former Chittagong University student, currently works as a lecturer at a private university.
Guests praised the couple’s unique protest, noting that even amid wedding celebrations, they sent a strong message for justice.
Kurratul Ain Kaniz told reporters, “We chose to protest with placards during our happiest moment to demand justice for Hadi Bhai. Our fight will continue until justice is served.”
Sujan Biswas added, “From our wedding celebration itself, we wanted to take a stand against injustice. We want justice for July fighter martyr Osman Hadi.”
